FORT COLLINS, Colo. – This weekend Michigan comes to Fort Collins to square off against the Rams in back-to-back games. The two teams will battle at the EPIC Center at noon MT both Saturday and Sunday.

Not only are the Rams facing one of the top teams in the country, but they will also be celebrating Senior Day on Sunday. The 2011 seniors that will be honored are Aspen Rapp, Orsi Nadasdy, Ali Pavlik, Natalie Berge and Sarah Lorge.

“We’re excited for some home games, especially playing Michigan,” said coach Mike Moody. “And Sunday is Senior Day for us since it’s our last home game this season.”

The Rams have never defeated Michigan but there is a lot of optimism going into the weekend. The Rams have lost two games against ranked opponents by only one goal during the 2011 campaign.

“Those were tough losses,” said Moody. “But they were definitely confidence boosters and we gained experience so it pays off.”

CSU is coming off a successful last tournament when it competed in the Princeton Invitational two weekends ago, and finished 3-1. But now the Rams look ahead to a weekend in which they will play the No. 8 team in the country on back-to-back days.

“It will be fun and challenging playing the same team two days in a row,” said Moody. “The girls are really playing well right now, too.”

As far as what they need to do to earn a big win this weekend, Moody plans on sticking with his usual game plan.

“We’re going to take it one game and one period at a time,” he said. “And hopefully execute our Xs and Os.”

Moody would like to see students attend the game this weekend. Admission is free.

“Hope to gain a crowd this weekend. It’s nice to see the crowd following men’s basketball right now.”

After this weekend the Rams will enjoy a two-week period with no games before heading to Claremont. Calif., for the Claremont Convergence Tournament from March 11-12.
