Tennis recap: Horned Frogs overpower Rams, 7-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado State women's tennis team was defeated by TCU, 7-0, Friday afternoon at the USAFA Cadet Gymnasium.
Colorado State's loss to the Horned Frogs pushed its season record back to 8-11 (0-6 MWC) while advancing TCU to 8-10 (2-3 MWC). The Frogs' win over CSU snapped the team's three-match loss streak.
With two top players missing from the Rams' lineup, the Horned Frogs gained an early lead over Colorado State, sweeping all three doubles matches.
At Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, the Rams were able to match their competition in early play before sustaining an 8-5 loss.
In singles, TCU maintained aggressive play, clinching victories in all six singles matches, assuring the Horned Frogs' sweep over the Rams.
Battling at the No. 1 position, Caitlin Fluegge put up an early fight in the first set before sustaining a 6-4, 6-1 loss to TCU's Katarina Tuohimaa.
The Rams will return to play April 23 at 1 p.m. MT for the team's final home match of the season, against Air Force.
