Track & field recap: CSU finishes competition at NCAA regional

EUGENE, Ore. – Five athletes participated in events on the final day of the NCAA regional at Hayward Field Saturday.
Trevor Brown took 22nd overall in the men’s 110-meter hurdle quarterfinal. He ran a time of 14.40 seconds.
On the women’s side freshman Jessica Sharbono placed 26th in the women’s discus. She threw a best distance of 153 feet, 3 inches on her first attempt. Cate Brus was one of 10 women unable to clear the starting height of 5-5 in the high jump.
In the last event of the night Tyson Williams and Cameron Carter competed in the discus. Carter fouled on all three attempts and Williams was less than 4 feet short of completing his second three attempts. He finished in 23rd place with a throw of 171-6.
After a seventh place finish in the men’s shot put Thursday, Williams will be the lone Ram advancing to the NCAA championships. He threw a season-best mark of 59 -8.25. Competition will take place June 8-11 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Williams will throw on June 10 at 4:30 p.m. MT.
