FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State junior Brianna Espinoza will compete as an individual in the NCAA Women’s Golf West Regional, beginning Thursday at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash.
The Washington National Golf Club has been ranked among the "101 Best Golf Experiences in the West" by Fairways and Greens. The course is a par 72 with 6,266 total yardage. If Espinoza can finish in the top two of the six individuals in the West regional, she will qualify for the NCAA championships May 18-21 in Bryan, Texas.
Espinoza impressed the selection committee with an average round score of 74 (ranking fourth in the Mountain West) and by posting four top-eight finishes, with a best finish of third at the MountainView Invitational in Tuscon, Ariz. Other individuals competing in the tournament are Idaho’s Kayla Mortellaro and Teo Poplawski, North Dakota State’s Amy Anderson, Maryland’s Jessica Hollandsworth and Baylor’s Chelsey Cothran.
