CSU track alum qualifies for world championship final

DAEGU, Korea - Janay DeLoach, a former CSU All-American and current volunteer track coach, earned the final qualifying spot for the long jump Friday at the IAAF World Championships at Daegu Stadium.
DeLoach recorded her best mark of 21 feet, 4.29 inches on her third and final attempt in the qualifying round. Brittany Reese (22-3.32) was the only other American to qualify for the final round. Brazil's Maurren Higa Maggi had the best qualifying-round mark of 22-6.87. DeLoach earned the 12th and final qualifying spot.
The final round will take place in the Saturday afternoon session.
