FORT COLLINS, Colo. – CSU athletics and the Colorado State men’s basketball team will once again show their commitment to the Fort Collins community when the Rams hoops team hosts Project Self-Sufficiency Night at Moby Arena Saturday evening the against the University of Nebraska Omaha Mavericks.
The department has provided 200 tickets in support of local program Project Self-Sufficiency, which since 1986 has assisted low-income, single parents in their efforts to build and maintain strong, healthy families; achieve economic independence; and become free from community and government assistance.
“The support that Project Self-Sufficiency provides is incredibly valuable and makes a profound difference in the lives of hundreds of families in the Fort Collins community,” said Head Coach Tim Miles. “Our team is grateful to be able to give back to such a worth-while cause.”
Project Self-Sufficiency has grown to now offer support to 150 families in Larimer County. In addition to housing support, PS-S has programs that now include the “Cars for Families” donation and repair programs, the scholarship fund, the emergency fund, the “Boundless Children’s Fund,” self-esteem and other classes, holiday programs, a career clothing closet for single parents, and “Cool Kids” back-to-school clothes for children.
The ticket donation furthers CSU’s commitment to the Fort Collins community and local non-profits. Last year, the department donated approximately $50,000 in tickets to area non-profits, while CSU’s nearly 400 student-athletes selflessly pledged more than 1,100 hours of community service, including work at local schools, senior centers, hospitals and food banks.

Saturday’s game is the first in a four-game homestand for the 9-4 Rams. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Moby Arena. The Rams then host in-state rival Denver Wednesday before starting Mountain West action Jan. 14 vs. TCU.
