FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State women’s tennis team concluded day two of the ITA Mountain Regionals Thursday, despite heavy morning rains.

Freshman Abby Stevens, Kendall Heitzner, Mollie Cooper and sophomore Natalie Heffron Cooper are still alive for the Rams.

Playing late into the night on the UNLV campus Wednesday, junior Kaley Schultz battled to win the first match but lost to New Mexico State’s Denise Van Der Ben, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6.

A full round of doubles was played Thursday, but Colorado State didn’t make it out of the first round.

Schultz and Heitzner lost to Air Force, 8-0. Sophomore Adriana Wojakowska and Cooper lost 8-3 to Denver. Heffron and Stevens fell 8-1 to ninth-seeded Air Force.

Round two of singles will resume Friday morning with weather permitting.
