Head Coach Tom Hilbert

(on serving from both teams)
“Our service pressure was very good tonight, and it made for a match that went short on rotations. However, in the serving game, they were plus three and we were plus one, but both teams had eight aces. We got aced six times in the first set. You can’t get aced six times in one set. It wasn’t because we can’t pass; it was because we didn’t communicate very well. I think once we got that shored up we did much better on serve receive."

(on the match as a whole)
"There were some things that we didn’t do very well tonight; we had way too many unforced errors as attackers. But I thought we blocked the ball pretty well, and when we were in system we were getting good attacks. We still have things to get better at, but it’s a win over a team which I think is getting better as the conference season goes on. They have some nice athletes, and (Akokwe) Clement is a good player. I thought we did a good job on her. We put a lot of pressure on her with the serving and the blocking, and it worked out to our advantage.”

(on what his team can improve on over the final weeks of the regular season)
“I feel like we can get better attacking. Kelsey (Snider) had a good match, but out of that M2 spot we have to build more offense out of that. Dri (Culbert) didn’t feel like she played very well tonight, although her numbers are good. Dri is always solid, but she’s critical of herself. Decisions of our outside hitters, both of them not just Jasmine (Hanna), and then getting more offense out of the M2 spot.”

(on winning a close first set)
“We were good at the end of that set. We were down 23-21 and ended up winning. We did the things we needed to do. If we serve like that Saturday it’s going to be great for us. That’s really good serving; its pressure serving. Air Force really isn’t that bad as a passing team, but we got after them. In Moby, especially, we need to do that every game.”

(on Acacia Andrew’s performance)
“Acacia had a great walk through this afternoon, and I told Deedra (Foss) to set her a lot to start the match off, because I wanted to see if she could carry that through. The key to her being successful is a high contact point.”

Senior middle blocker Kelsey Snider

(on her five kills in Set 3)
“I think I got more kills in front of the setter in Set 3 than I did behind, and that was working for us. Deedra (Foss) and I have been clicking better, so we just need to keep with that uphill climb.”

Junior libero Jaime Colaizzi

(on her 1,000th career dig)
“It’s cool to get to that point, but I still have a lot to work on. I think everyone played great defensively tonight, and I think the areas we struggled in we picked up in other areas, which is awesome. I’m proud of tonight.”

(on playing at home for the first time in three weeks)
“You could just hear Moby going nuts, and honestly that’s what we’re all about. It felt great being at home and being in front of our fans and getting that fire back that we have been missing in the last few matches.”
