FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State quarterback Garrett Grayson and offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo have been invited to the 2015 NFL Combine held on February 17-23 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Grayson, a Heisman Trophy Aspirant and the 2014 Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, captured every career record in Colorado State history this season, and broke his own single-season records for passing yards (4,006) and passing touchdowns (32). Grayson is only the third Mountain West quarterback to throw for over 4,000 passing yards in a single season.
Grayson, who accepted invitations to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl and the East-West Shrine Game, had arguably his best single-game performance against rival Wyoming on Oct. 25. The native of Vancouver, Wash., completed 18-of-21 passes for 390 yards and 5 touchdowns. He finished the game with a passing efficiency rating of 320.3, the highest by an FBS quarterback since 2006.
Grayson, who will be training with Fischer Sports based out of Phoenix, Ariz., finished his career with 9,190 passing yards and 64 passing touchdowns, both CSU records.
Sambrailo, who will be joining Grayson at the Reese's Senior Bowl, played in 11 of 13 games for CSU, grading out above 90-percent in every contest. Sambrailo, one of the top tackles in the country, recorded well over 65 knockdown blocks on the season. He helped lead the Rams to a school record 480.9 yards of total offense per game, while earning first-team All-Mountain West honors.
Sambrailo is working out in Irvine, Calif., with STACK Velocity Sports Performance.
This is the second consecutive year that CSU will be represented in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine. Last February, running back Kapri Bibbs, tight end Crockett Gillmore and offensive lineman Weston Richburg attended the intense multi-day job interview.
