AVCA All-Region Teams

LEXINGTON, Ky. –
For the second-straight season, Colorado State’s Adrianna Culbert and Deedra Foss have been named to the AVCA Pacific North All-Region Team. The Pacific North Region consists of half of the Big Sky, Big West, Mountain West, Pac-12 and West Coast. CSU has had multiple all-region selections each year since 2007, and dating back to 1987, has had 44 total honorees.

Adrianna Culbert | Junior | Opposite Hitter | Delton, Mich.
Culbert is one of the most versatile players in the region, averaging 2.44 kills, 3.21 digs and 0.63 blocks per set, while hitting at a .312 clip. Among Pacific North Region pin hitters (left and right side), she ranks second for hitting and fourth for digs – including second and first, respectively, among right-side attackers. She’s had nine double-doubles on the season and was named the espnW National Player of the Week on Oct. 15. The All-Mountain West selection was the only player in the conference to rank in the top 10 for hitting and digs, also ranking 17th for kills.

"It's awesome," Culbert said. "The fact that people have that perception and view me as one of the best players in the region is humbling. It's an honor to be recognized with these types of players, and I'm excited for Deedra, as well."

Deedra Foss | Senior | Setter | McKenna, Wash.
The 2014 Mountain West Player of the Year currently ranks third in the NCAA for assists (11.74) and leads a CSU offense which ranks ninth for hitting efficiency (.283). She is one of just two setters nationally to rank in the top 10 for both categories. In addition to her high assists total, she leads all 5-1 Pacific North Region setters with 0.74 blocks per set. For her career, she has 4,808 assists, which ranks fifth in CSU and MW history, including the top mark during the 25-point scoring era. Her career assists average of 11.23 per set ranks second among active setters in the NCAA with at least 4,500 career assists. Foss was twice named the MW Player of the Week and was the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week on Nov. 25.

"It's such an honor," Foss said. "There are a lot of good teams in our region, so to be recognized is really cool. It's something I couldn't do without my team, though, so really I see this as a team award."

Culbert and Foss – two of 44 players who have earned multiple all-region accolades throughout their careers – will now await All-America selections, which will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Of the 140 players named all-region, 42 will be named to one of the three All-America teams. Eleven players have earned 13 total All-America awards in CSU history, a figure which ranks 18th nationally. CSU has earned three selections in the past three years.

Following two wins this past weekend, the Rams advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals, which will take place this week in Minneapolis, Minn. CSU will face No. 2 seed Texas on Friday at 3 p.m. MT. At 31-2 on the year, CSU owns the second-most victories in program history. The Rams won their sixth-consecutive Mountain West championship in 2014.
