KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Recent Colorado State graduate Trevor Brown did for Team USA over the weekend what he had done so many times for the Rams throughout his All-American career in green and gold. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native won the 400-meter hurdles at the 2014 North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) U-23 Track & Field Championships, capturing one of 12 gold medals for Team USA on the third and final day of competition Sunday at Hillsdale Stadium.

Brown, who last month was named the 2014 recipient of the Nye Trophy given annually to CSU's top male athlete, edged out fellow Team USA competitor Michael Stigler from the University of Kansas for the gold medal, posting a time of 49.92 seconds, just 0.06 seconds ahead of Stigler.

Brown completed his degree in sociology in May, and ended his CSU career as one of the most decorated Rams of all time. After winning his first All-America nod during his sophomore year in 2012, Brown set school and conference records, and then continuously topped them with each passing year. His senior season was no exception. The school record-holder in all three hurdling events, Brown won two MW championships and earned three All-America accolades during his senior campaign, totaling five in his illustrious career. Brown owns the Mountain West records in the 60- and 110-meter hurdles, as well as the best conference championship times in each.
