FORT COLLINS, Colo. -Â With a 2015 bowl game still on the horizon, Colorado State's future got better on Tuesday with Domonique Williams signing a financial aid agreement to attend CSU and play for the Rams.
Williams, an all-state player at Fulton High School in Knoxville, Tenn., is expected to play defensive back for CSU. He helped Fulton to three Tennessee Class 4A state championships.
Showing his versatility, Williams scored 27 touchdowns as a senior, including seven on the ground, 12 through the air and eight on kickoffs or punt returns. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound athlete averaged 119.7 all-purpose yards per game in 2015. On defense, he recorded 21 tackles, 13 defended passes and two fumble recoveries.
Williams plans to enroll for the spring semester and participate in offseason workouts and spring practices with the Rams. CSU expects to receive several additional financial aid agreements and National Letters of Intent from mid-year enrollees and junior college transfers this week. The Rams' full 2016 recruiting class will be announced on Feb. 3, 2016, when all high school and junior college football student-athletes may sign NLIs.
