HEAD COACH Ryun Williams

(opening statement)

"Just found a way tonight. We knew this was going to be a tough game. Look at every game we've played against Nevada, and it has gone down to this, it has, even from our first year here. Very good coach, they just got some things that give us a tough time. Mimi (Mungedi) is one of them. She is hard to handle in there. They had some kids shooting tonight and we just had to find a way, and I'm glad we did."

(on clinching a share of the Mountain West title)

"This group has gone through a ton of adversity and they have won so many different ways. Tonight was one of those ways; we went with a different lineup. But it means that we are a consistent program, that we are building a program. It's hard to win conference championships. It's hard to win one, and to win two, that's special. These kids wanted it, and not just to win two but also when you are picked to win it, that's hard. You have a huge target on your back all year long, and we have gotten everybody's best punch. Tonight, we got Nevada's best game. We know we are going to get that, but to do it by overcoming the injuries that we have had early and midway through the year, and every single night different kids stepping up and making plays. We've played so many different lineups and rotations and our kids were ready every single night. It means a lot. It means a big deal to us.

Good poise, good self-control. I think it is hard to do what you are supposed to do. You know you are supposed to close out tonight, that is tough to do. Someone said they played kind of sluggish, I don't know about sluggish. Maybe they played tight because they want something so bad, but we loosened up and we played a little better, and the kids did a good job down the stretch."

(on Mestdagh's play)

"Hanne (Mestdagh) has been a rock star, for a long time now. That three-ball is a great weapon, and she extends the defense. She stretches the defense, which opens it up for other kids on the floor. We've got a lot of stuff at the rim in the first half. Hanne and Jamie (Patrick) give us so much, defending and rebounding. Her size and her strength helped us tonight. We wanted to be a little bigger in the front of our zone tonight, and she gave us that as well. Hanne has had a great year."

(on Nevada's competitive nature)

"Look at all their scores, a lot of close basketball games. Like I said, they got some unique weapons. Makes it tough to guard out there because they spread the ball well, so they are hard to double."

CSU PLAYER QUOTES

Ellen Nystrom

(on clinching a share of the Mountain West title)

"It feels good, but we still want to be the only first team and we still have one more game. That's the only thing we're focused on right now."

(on Nevada's competitiveness)

"They're super competitive and they had nothing to lose coming into the game. They put on a good game for us."

(on this year compared to last year)

"It's been a struggle, but I feel like we've had our downs, so we can only go up from here. That's a good thing because last year, at the end, we just got tired. This year we're more prepared because we've been through so much with injuries and stuff."

(on well roundedness of team)

"That's what our team is about. You can't just take away one player because someone else is going to step up. That's what our team is all about."

Jamie Patrick

(general)

"It's tough when we have something to lose, so we're trying every game to fight for it and every team is giving us their best game. It's wasn't our best, but we're going to come out and find a way and fight."

(on scouting Mungedi)

"Eli(n Gustavsson) runs the best out of anyone on our team so we wanted her to run to make (Mimi Mungedi) tired. That was the plan from the get go."

(on the key to finishing strong)

"I think composure, and we knew what we had to do. I don't think any of us were even worried one bit. Like I said, composure and we just came out and knew what we had to do. It was all at the defensive end and rebounding."
