FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado State men's basketball head coach Larry Eustachy announced that the Rams have signed New Mexico Junior College power forward Kimani Jackson to a National Letter of Intent Thursday, the second day of the men's basketball NLI signing period. Jackson will join the Rams as a redshirt sophomore in 2015-16 with three years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

Jackson, a four-star recruit according to 247sports.com, comes to the Colorado State rated as the No. 5 overall junior college prospect in the nation, and the top power forward in the class of 2015. As a redshirt freshman at NMJC in 2014-15, Jackson helped the Thunderbirds to second round of the NJCAA Region V Tournament where his squad fell to South Plains College led by future Rams teammate Emmanuel Omogbo. Jackson helped lead NMJC to a 23-9 record on the season, playing in 24 contests with 10 starts and averaging 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while shooting better than 50 percent from the floor. Jackson chose Colorado State over offers from Tennessee, Old Dominion, James Madison and Fresno State, and was also recruited by Arkansas, Southern Miss, TCU, Washington State and West Virginia.

Eustachy on Jackson: "Obviously with losing three out of four front line guys, we knew adding a big body with some experience would be crucial. We are really excited to address that with the addition of Kimani. And the best part is that he will have three years of eligibility. He has tremendous upside and has a chance to continue to improve."
