EUGENE, Ore. – Olympic bronze medalist Janay DeLoach qualified for the IAAF World Championships Saturday, placing third in the long jump at the USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.

A volunteer assistant coach on Brian Bedard’s staff, DeLoach has continued to train in Fort Collins since graduating in 2008. The school-record holder placed first in her flight and third overall with a leap of 22 feet, 9.75 inches on her third attempt. The ranking qualifies her for the world championships on Aug. 22-30 in Beijing, China.

Also competing in the meet over the weekend were recent graduates Trevor Brown and Kiah Hicks. Brown took seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.07 seconds. Hicks placed 15th in the discus, with a toss of 178-00.
