FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State Rams defeated the Idaho Vandals at Moby Pool on Friday night by a score of 180-118.
CSU (2-1) got off to a hot start and Idaho (0-1) could not catch up. The two squads split the two springboard diving events.
Rowan Hauber, Gianna Salanitro, Tonicia Thomas and Katie Kicklighter got CSU on the scoreboard first with a win in the 200 Medley Relay (1:46.95). Haley Rowley then dominated the 1000 Free, winning by 26 seconds with a time of 10:24.10. It was the first of three wins on the day for Rowley, who also won the 200 Back (2:01.62 - season high) and the 400 IM (4:27.66).
CSU ultimately won the first four swimming events of the evening, with Teagan Griffith taking the 200 Free (1:55.26) and Thomas winning the 100 Back (56.42).

Katie Kicklighter excelled in the two shortest Freestyle events, winning the 50 Free (23.98) and taking second to teammate Hauber in the 100 Free.
Emily Williams, fresh off her first Mountain West Diver of the Week award, won the 1-meter springboard with a new season-high score of 266.18, good to meet the NCAA qualifying standard.
IN THEIR WORDS...
"I think what's most impressive about today is the depth. Some people who aren't necessarily always at the top really performed well. Sometimes when you have your third meet in three weeks you'll have a letdown, especially because we're training really hard, but the kids didn't use that as an excuse and they performed well." - Head coach Woody Woodard on what impressed him the most today
"Undeniably, she's obviously very talented. She's also so easy going and gregarious, but when she hits the water she's a fierce competitor. All she cares about is `who do I have to beat'. It takes some people time to cultivate that, but she definitely provides that spark." - Woodard on the performance of Haley Rowley
"I think it bodes well. You never know how people are going to react to things like new weight programs and new coaching styles, but I do like where we are at. I'm looking more at where we are in terms of race strategy and for the most part I see that. My hope is we will polish that more over the next couple weeks because we will need it." - Woodard on the progress of his team through three weeks of competition
