HOUSTON -
Sophomore Haley Rowley set another CSU record as the Rams jumped to fifth on the team leaderboard during Day 2 of the Phill Hansel Invite.

Rowley's 400 IM time (4:16.24) is her second CSU record in as many days and was also an NCAA B cut qualifying time.

Multiple Rams put together strong performances that put them in NCAA championship qualifier territory while scoring a lot of points for the squad. Jenna Beaury earned a 'B' time in the 100 Breast (1:02.41), and Rowan Hauber did the same in the 100 Back (54.55).

HOUSTON - Sophomore Haley Rowley set a school record in the 500 Freestyle as the Colorado State Rams completed the first day at the Phill Hansel Invite on Friday.

Rowley's time of 4:47.91 in the 500 Free beat the previous school record by nearly 5 seconds. The previous top mark was set by Jennifer Lamb in 2011.

"Haley's 500 set the tone early in the prelims," assistant coach MacKenzie Brown said. "She has never been under 4:50 and she not only beat that but then went even faster in the finals. We are excited to have a new school record and even more excited about Haley's future as a Ram."

Brown was also pleased with the performances from the rest of the CSU swimmers.

"Our first day went great for the Rams," Brown added. "We had 15 swims in finals tonight, which is seven more than last year. The girls have been training with great diligence and intensity which is why they are so excited to get up and race at sea level. They expect great things from themselves and so far they have achieved quite a bit in just the first day. We are excited to see what they accomplish tomorrow and Sunday."

Emily Williams paced the CSU divers, taking fourth in the 1-meter finals.

"Tonight was a great night for Emily," diving coach Chelsea Popplewell said. "She dove quite a bit better in the finals than in the prelims. She handled the pressure great and was able to move up three places to fourth, just three points out of third. She also got an NCAA Zone cut again, so she just keeps improving. Even with those accomplishments, we know there is still room for improvement to get to where we want to be come February so that's really exciting.

"Tomorrow will be another good test for her and Nicole (Sisco) so I'm excited to see what they can do."
