FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Rising sophomore Braden Koelliker (Kaysville, Utah/Davis (Snow College)) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Colorado State men's basketball program, head coach Larry Eustachy announced today. Koelliker will join the program for the 2016-17 season.
"We are extremely excited to add Braden to our team," Eustachy said. "He is only a sophomore who has been on a church mission and is extremely mature for his age. I feel he will make an impact immediately."
The 6-8 forward spent the past year at Snow College where he started in 27 of the 30 games played and averaged 13.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, garnering Second Team All-Region 18 honors. Koelliker shot 47.7 percent from the floor, 34.4 percent from the three-point line and 72.0 percent from the free throw line for the season in 29.9 minutes per contest. He scored in double figures in 21 games, with a season-high of 24 twice during the year. He also had 10 or more rebounds in eight contests, grabbing a season-best 17 against Salt Lake on Dec. 17. This was his freshman season after spending two years on a mission trip
As a senior at Davis High School in 2012-13, he averaged 10.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 45 percent from the field, earning Honorable Mention All-State and First Team All-Region accolades in 2013. He led his team to the Class 5A playoffs in each of his two years, including a berth in the 5A quarterfinals his senior season. A three-sport standout for the Darts, Koelliker also played football and lacrosse during his high school career.
