WITH THE WIN…
  • CSU is 4-0 in MW play for the first time since 2002 (started 6-0). The Rams won the MW in 2002, their last league title.
    • It's also the first time the Rams have won their first three road conference games since 2002. CSU won at Utah, Air Force and San Diego State that season to finish 3-0 in road MW games.
    • CSU finished 10-4 (6-1 MW) in 2002 – its last conference championship winning season.
  • CSU leads the Mountain Division of the MW with a 4-0 record (Boise State and Wyoming are 2-0).
    • Boise State and Wyoming play Saturday at 8:15 pm MT (game is in Boise)
  • CSU has won its last six conference games.
  • The Rams are 4-0 in their last six road MW contests, dating back to last season.
  • With a 6-2 overall record, CSU is bowl eligible for the fifth consecutive year.
    • CSU has been bowl eligible in all three of Head Coach Mike Bobo's seasons.
    • Only once before has CSU been bowl eligible five years in a row – 1999-2003.
 
TEAM
  • For the first time in MW play, the Rams did not score a TD on their opening drive of the game. CSU did not score on its first two drives, but then scored TDs on its next three drives (all three drives of the second quarter).
 
INDIVIDUAL
  • QB Nick Stevens was 17-of-33 for 231 yards with 2 TDs.
    • Stevens is now second in career passing yards at CSU with 7,237.
      • Garrett Grayson (2011-14) holds the record with 9,191
    • With his 2 TDs, he is now just 3 away from Grayson's record of 64.
  • WR Michael Gallup finished with 6 receptions for 58 yards.
    • Gallup moved into 6th in career receiving yards at CSU (2,278), passing Johnny Walker (2,223 – 2004-07)
    • Gallup now has 1,006 yards on the season. It's his second 1,000-yard season and the 12th in the history of CSU. He is the fourth player with multiple 1,000-yard seasons.
  • RB Izzy Matthews had 21 carries for 116 yards
    • He had 11 carries for 92 yards (8.4 avg) and a TD in the first half
    • Matthews is now tied for seventh in career rushing TDs at CSU with 24
      • Tied with Gartrell Johnson (2004-08), Damon Washington (1995-98) and Oscar Reed (1965-67).
    • It's his first 100-yard game of the season and the fourth of his career.
  • WR Olabisi Johnson had 5 catches for 77 yards.
    • Johnson caught his first TD of the year at the 2:19 mark of the second quarter, putting the Rams up 14-7.
  • TE Dalton Fackrell finished with 3 receptions for 40 yards.
    • He hauled in a 7-yard TD reception at 7:48 in the second quarter to tie the game. Fackrell has had a TD reception in four consecutive games.
  • RB Dalyn Dawkins had 12 carries for 71 yards.
    • Dawkins moved to ninth in career rushing yards at CSU (2,541), passing Alvin Lewis (2,522 – 1977-80)
  • LB Josh Watson led the team with 9 tackles. It's the sixth time this year that Watson has led or co-led the team in tackles.
  • LB Evan Colorito recorded the game-ending sack with 0:00 on the clock. He has 2.5 sacks on the year. Today was also his birthday.
  • DE Jakob Buys had 1 sack and a fumble recovery.
