Rams wide receiver is 16th in program history to earn invitation to prestigious pre-draft showcase
MOBILE, Ala.—Colorado State senior wide receiver Michael Gallup has accepted an invitation from the Reese's Senior Bowl to take part in the prestigious pre-draft showcase in Mobile, Ala., Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018. The game is televised by the NFL Network and kicks off at 1:30 p.m. CT.
Gallup, a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, is the 16th Colorado State Ram to earn an invitation to the Senior Bowl, and the first since QB Garrett Grayson and T Ty Sambrailo received the honor following the 2014 season. C Weston Richburg and TE Crockett Gillmore earned invitations in 2013, and all four were selected in the first three rounds of their respective NFL Drafts.
"This is a special honor for a young man who represents our program in a humble way in everything he does," said Colorado State head coach Mike Bobo. "He would tell you that it takes an entire team for one player to shine, and our football program can take great pride in seeing Michael receive this honor."
The multi-talented receiver from Monroe, Ga., has 94 receptions for 1,345 yards (14.3) and seven touchdowns through the Rams' 12-game regular season. He leads all FBS players in receiving yards and ranks second in receiving yards per game (112.1) and fourth in receptions per game (7.8). Gallup also leads the nation in receptions of 10 yards or more (56) and ranks second in all scrimmage plays of 10 or more yards. He is the only player in the FBS to top the 200-yard receiving mark in two games this season, recording 212 in a win at Hawai'i (Sept. 30) and a career-high 263 in a win over Nevada (Oct. 14).
