Senior offensive lineman to showcase talents in Los Angeles
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State senior offensive lineman Zack Golditch has accepted an invitation to play in the 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. The NFL Draft showcase event takes place Jan. 20 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
Golditch becomes the fourth CSU player to commit to a postseason all-star game this year. Wide receiver Michael Gallup will appear in the Senior Bowl, while center Jake Bennett and quarterback Nick Stevens will play in the East-West Shrine Game.
"I am very excited for Zack Golditch to have this opportunity to take part in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl," said head coach Mike Bobo. "He has the ability to play at the next level, and has shown his versatility by playing several positions on the offensive line for us. He is the consummate teammate and a leader who will be remembered as a tremendous Ram."
The Aurora, Colo., native was named first-team All-Mountain West this season. He started all 13 games for the Rams, primarily at left tackle.
He helped anchor an offensive line that ended the regular season ranked fourth in the nation in fewest sacks allowed (0.67 per game), and rated 10th in the FBS in total offense.
With Golditch and the rest of CSU's well-decorated offensive line leading the way, the Rams set single-season program records in total offense (492.5 yards per game), third-down conversion percentage (50.3 percent) and first downs per game (25.5).
Golditch will be the sixth Ram (and fourth CSU offensive lineman) to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl:
Golditch has also been recognized for his off-the-field efforts. He was nominated for both the AFCA Good Works Team and the Wuerffel Trophy, and was a semifinalist for the inaugural Jason Witten Man of the Year award.
