LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Colorado State women's tennis team closed its regular season on Saturday, falling to Wyoming, 4-0. The Rams (9-13) will now turn their attention to the Mountain West Championship, which begins Thursday in Las Vegas.

CSU couldn't gain any traction against the Cowgirls (17-3), who are undefeated this season in Mountain West play and at home.

Early on, Wyoming took the doubles point with victories at No. 1 (6-2) and No. 3 (6-1). From there, Wyoming was dominant across the board in singles play, winning at the No. 1-3 positions.

Tessa van Der Ploeg was the first to finish, defeating Riley Reeves (6-1, 6-0) at No. 3. Magdalena Stencel defeated Emily Kolbow at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1) and the match was clinched when Dorottya Jonas beat Alyssa Grijalva (6-2, 6-0) at the No. 2 spot.

Freshman Sandra Keta was in the middle of her match when the contest ended. Seniors Celine Voss and Madison Porter did not play in singles.

Despite the loss, CSU enters the conference tournament having won nine dual matches - its highest total since 2011 - and splitting its past 10 matches overall. The 2017 Mountain West Championship bracket will be revealed on Monday.
