Hassan, the 2017 NCAA indoor national champion in the shot put, enters the IAAF World Championships as the No. 16-seeded athlete. He recorded his top mark of the year at the Mt. SAC Relays, winning the elite invitational section at the prestigious meet with a lifetime-best throw of 69-11 (21.31m).
