August 7 - Nico Caravacho, redshirt-sophomore center
After a day of getting used to the area and enjoying some of the sites, we got down to business today and practiced here in Nassau. We went to the arena we will be playing, the Kendall G.L. Isaacs National Gymnasium which is the best venue here in Nassau. This place is named for one of the former leaders in the Bahamas' government and is right next to the national track and field and swimming venues. All these arenas and stadiums we are seeing just were hosts of the Youth Commonwealth Games that had more than 1,300 participants from over 90 countries participate, which is amazing for such a small area.
Practice today was pretty focused on what we need to do to get better, not only for our three games this week but for the upcoming season. That's the great part of this trip is we have a chance to continue to learn on the court and spend time together as a team off the court. That will be huge for us as we learn how to play with this team and get closer as a group. Looking forward to seeing how we do tomorrow in our first game of the week!
