Rams Currently Eighth Through 36 Holes of Oregon Duck Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. – The Colorado State men's golf team is in eighth after 36 holes of the 2018 Oregon Duck Invitational, March 26. The two-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of Oregon, is being played at Eugene Country Club (Par 71 – 7,020 yards) in Eugene, Ore.
In the morning round, the Rams posted a 10-over 294 and was tied for fifth, but the squad slipped three spots in the afternoon after posting an 11-over 295 and a 36-hole total of 21-over 589. Santa Clara is the second-round leader at 11-under 579, one shot ahead of host Oregon, Liberty and Oregon State in a tie for second at 12-over 580. Arizona rounds out the top five teams at 14-over 582.
CSU is led by senior Max Oelfke, who is tied for ninth at even-par 142. Oelfke shot a 1-under 70 in the morning and 1-over 72 in the afternoon, which included a combined six birdies on the day. In his first tournament in the lineup, freshman Jack Ainscough had both his rounds count and is tied for 21st at 5-over 147. Sophomore AJ Ott is tied for 28th one shot back of his teammate at 6-over 148, improving eight shots in the afternoon with a team low 1-under 70 in the second round. Freshman Parathakorn Suyasri is next in a tie for 64th at 11-over 153, with junior Jake Staiano tied for 68th at 12-over 154. Loyola Marymount's Riley Elmes is the individual leader at 5-under 137, one shot better than Norman Xiong of Oregon, as just eight players posted under-par scores through the first two rounds.
The Rams will go off holes 5-8 in the final round shotgun start, playing with Arizona, Saint Mary's and San Jose State.
