The 2018 Pac-12 All-Freshman selection joins Colorado State with three seasons of eligibility remaining

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State women's basketball team has signed Tori Williams to a financial aid agreement, head coach Ryun Williams announced on Wednesday.

Williams is a 5-foot-9 guard from Boise, Idaho, and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining upon joining Colorado State. The 2018 Pac-12 All-Freshman selection helped lead Utah past UNLV for a second-round finish in the Women's National Invitation Tournament last season.

"We are thrilled to have Tori join our program," Ryun Williams said. "Tori is a tremendous basketball player who was an impact freshman in the Pac-12 and one of the better guards in the country coming out of high school. She's an athletic combo guard who can score it and just flat-out make plays."

The rising sophomore distinguished herself as one of the Pac-12's top sharpshooters en route to her Pac-12 All-Freshman honor, finishing the season ranked fifth in the conference in three-point field goals made per game (2.1). Additionally, Williams was tops among all Pac-12 freshmen in that category and finished with the most threes of any player on Utah's roster (64).

In 2017-18, Williams averaged 29.5 minutes over 27 starts and 31 appearances, scoring 9.1 points per game with 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Her notable performances included an 18-point (6-for-9 three-point shooting) effort against Mountain West foe Nevada, as well as a 29-point outburst against Washington that earned her one of her two Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors. Williams' seven three-point field goals made against the Huskies tied a facility record for the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

Among other honors she earned in her lone season with the Utes was Utah Athletics' 2018 Female Rookie of the Year Award, given to the top freshman across all of the athletic department's women's sports.

In high school, Williams averaged 22 points per game en route to 2017 Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year honors and a McDonald's All-America nomination. Other accolades she earned include Idaho 5A state tournament MVP honors, a pair of all-state nods, USA Today All-Idaho distinction and four all-conference selections. In her senior year, Williams won a state title with Centennial High School, and played club basketball for the nation's No. 2 team, Hoop Dreams. She was rated 99th overall and 22nd at her position in the ESPN Class of 2017 rankings.

Williams is the second transfer from Utah to join the Rams this offseason, joining rising junior guard/forward Megan Jacobs (Las Vegas/Bishop Gorman HS). Also of note is that Williams reunites with former Centennial HS teammate and current CSU redshirt freshman guard/forward Lauren Brocke.
