CSU Tied For 13th After 36 Holes of William H. Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Colorado State men's golf team could not overcome a slow start to both rounds and is currently tied for 13th after 36 holes of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, Sept. 28. The two-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of New Mexico, is being played at the UNM Championship Course (Par 72 – 7,555 yards) in Albuquerque, N.M.

CSU struggled out of the gate and could not find the birdies on the course, shooting an 11-over 299 in the first round followed by a 14-over 302 in the afternoon to post a 25-over 601 and sit in a tie with Loyola Marymount. UNLV is the two-round leader at 14-under 562, three shots ahead of BYU in second at 11-under 565. Pepperdine is third at 8-under 568, with Arkansas in fourth at 5-under 571. Colorado and host New Mexico round out the top-five placings through 36 holes in a tie at 2-under 574.

Senior Jake Staiano is currently the top Ram in a tie for 46th at 4-over 148 in a tie for 46th. Freshman Davis Bryant is one shot back at 5-over 149 in a tie for 52nd. Junior AJ Ott is tied for 70th at 8-over 152, with sophomore Jack Ainscough tied for 90th with a total of 14-over 158. Sophomore Parathakorn Suyasri rounds out CSU's effort in a tie for 93rd at 15-over 159. UNLV's Harry Hall is the 36-hole leader at 9-under 135, two shots better than BYU's Peter Kuest in second.

The final round will be an 8 a.m. MT shotgun start, with CSU starting on holes 16-18 and playing with Loyola Marymount and UTEP.
