COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado State swimming & diving team earned Scholar All-America recognition by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced on Wednesday.
The CSCAA selected a record 713 teams from 460 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2018 semester. The teams were selected by the CSCAA's Scholar All-America committee on the basis of their Fall grade point averages and represent 16,502 student-athletes.
Colorado State posted a 3.32 composite team GPA for the Fall 2018 semester. To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the Fall semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes. CSU has earned 12 consecutive Scholar All-America honors and 16 times since 2009.
"We're so privileged to work with student-athletes who work diligently with their advisors, tutors and coaches to come up with plans for success in the classroom," head coach Woody Woodard said. "They set a high bar and rarely disappoint."
In addition, seven Rams recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall: Jennae Frederick, Marie Goodwyn, Madison Gordley, Rachel Holland, Veronica Morin, Haley Rowley and Nina Stitt.
The Rams will look to record a perfect January as they close the regular season next weekend hosting Northern Colorado for a swim meet. The diving team will finish the month at the Air Force Diving Invitational, Feb. 1-2. Colorado State will then prepare for the Mountain West Championships, Feb. 20-22 in Minneapolis.
