Rams Ink Rivera, Jennissen To National Letters of Intent

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State has inked guard Isaiah Rivera and center Jacob Jennissen to National Letters of Intent, head coach Niko Medved announced today.

Isaiah Rivera, G, 6-5, 190, Geneseo, Ill. (Geneseo HS)
HIGH SCHOOL: Is currently a top 100 ESPN Small Forward (ranked #44), graduating in 2020…Three-star athlete and No. 4 player in the state of Illinois who earned Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Class 3A All-State First Team and Associated Press Second Team honors last year… Also a 2019 News-Gazette All-State Special Mention 50 selection… As a junior averaged 28 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game at Geneseo, ranking him fourth in the state of Illinois… Also added 62 steals and 19 blocked shots… During his junior year set Geneoso High School records for single-game points (51, including 21-of-23 from the free throw line), single-season points (797) and career points (1,630)… Led the Maple Leafs past LaSalle-Peru in the regional semifinals with 35 points on 10-15 shooting from the field and 12 rebounds… Played on 2018 FIBA Junior Team for the Dominican Republic in U17 World Cup in Argentina, averaging 10.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 27.6 minutes per game… Shot 85.7 percent from the free throw line in the tournament, going 18-of-21… Also recorded 11 steals, nine assists and one block… Had his best game in the opener against Australia, scoring 13 points and adding five rebounds and two steals… Scored in double figures in six of seven contests… Chose Colorado State over numerous offers, including DePaul, Drake, Loyola Chicago, New Mexico, Northern Iowa and St. John's… Played his high school basketball for Brad Storm.

HIGH SCHOOL: Is currently a top-10 center in the state of Minnesota (PrepHoops.com), graduating in 2020... Named 2019-20 Class AA Preseason First Team All-State by PrepHoops.com… As a junior averaged 15 points and 9.7 rebounds per game on 60 percent shooting from the floor and 70 percent from the free throw line… Chose Colorado State from other offers by Drake, Minnesota Duluth, and Northern Iowa… Elected 2A Preseason First Team All-State during 2019-2020 season… Also played baseball in high school as a first baseman…  Played his AAU basketball for the Minnesota Matrix… Second player obtained from Coach Medved's home state of Minnesota after current freshman David Roddy… Chose Colorado State over several offers, including Drake, Northern Iowa and Milwaukee
