Aria Tate’s Two Titles Highlight Rams on Saturday

10 Individual Titles for the Rams
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado State track and field team racked up 10 individual event titles, two coming from senior Aria Tate, Saturday at the UCCS Holiday Invite at the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse.
Tate, of Irmo, S.C., won the high jump with a height of 5'10.5'' (1.79), measuring for a tie in fourth all-time at CSU and notching a new personal best. In her first time competing indoor in the 60-meter hurdles for the Rams, she took first with a time of 8.59 – good for ninth in CSU history.
Four other individual winners came from the women's side. In the 60 meters, Briyana Bunson finished first with a time of 7.45 to edge ahead of her PR set last week and move up to seventh all-time on the Ram record board. Also moving into the event's top-10 and winning was Amelia Harvey in the triple jump at 39'10.75'' for a PR and seventh in school history.
To round out the lady winners and for the second-straight meet, Maria Muzzio and Ashton Hallsted won the shot put and weight throw, respectively. Muzzio tossed a 50'3.5'' distance, registering 11th on the school list. Albeit unattached again, Hallsted threw a 62'10'', which also would register as 11th-best in the green and gold if official.
On the men's side, Isa Bynum notched his third individual event title in the early season and second in the long jump by taking this one with a jump of 23'10.25''. The distance ties him on the school list at 10th, but not better than his fifth-best mark set last week.
Freshman Allam Bushara busted onto the scene in the triple jump with a 49'8.50'' score for a PR and sixth-best in school history. The final individual Ram winner came from Bailey King in the weight throw after he slung it 58'11.5''.
The last event of the day went to the Rams in the 4x400-meter relay. DeVon Washington, Jack Sheesley, Elijah Weetman, Tom Willems were the first team to cross with a time of 3:21.34.
Aside from the individual winners, 10 Rams set new personal bests in their events and one debut was made.
Notably, Tate also almost obtained the hat trick in event titles as she finished second in the long jump with another top-10 school mark and personal best.
