Lawrence and Rockhold earn Mountain West Athlete of the Week recognition

Rams continue to dominate weekly MW awards for track and field
FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A record-breaking week of performances by Colorado State's men's and women's track and field programs has earned recognition again this week from the Mountain West.
Senior transfer Shadae Lawrence has been tabbed as the women's outdoor field athlete of the week by the MW and senior Cole Rockhold has earned men's outdoor track athlete of the week.
This week's honors give the Rams six MW track and field weekly awards in the five weeks since the outdoor season began in late March.
Shadae Lawrence – MW Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
The Rams return to Jack Christiansen Track this week for their final home meet, Saturday, April 27.

Shadae Lawrence – MW Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
- Lawrence broke CSU's outdoor discus record twice in one day, at two different meets
- Her toss of 209-7 (63.89m) at the Mt. SAC Relays Saturday exceeded her initial record-breaking toss of 202-9 (61.80m) at the Beach Invitational.
- It was not only the CSU and MW record, but No. 6 mark all-time by a U.S. collegian and the Jamaican national record for the native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, and Hydel High School, by way of Kansas State.
- Rockhold showed he's back from previous injury setbacks to break the CSU school record in the 5,000 with a time of 13:35.26 at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif.
- The time is No. 1 in the MW this season and No. 7 in the NCAA for the Independence, Mo., native from Truman High School.
- The All-American also hold CSU's No. 3 mark in the 1,500 from 2017 (3:41.04).
The Rams return to Jack Christiansen Track this week for their final home meet, Saturday, April 27.
