The sophomore posted his second runner-up finish of the year in leading CSU to third at the PING Cougar Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Sophomore Parathakorn Suyasri has been named Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced today. This was the first weekly honor for the program of the season and the first of his collegiate career.

A native of Chonburi, Thailand, Suyasri was the runner-up at the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah, leading Colorado State to a third-place finish. This was his second runner-up finish of the year, as he carded a 7-under 209 in a field of 90 golfers. He tied for his second-lowest single round of the season with a 67 on the final day of the event, and his 54-hole total of 209 is the second-best in his collegiate career. As a team, the Rams carded a 17-under-par, the second-lowest team score of the year.

Ranked #44 according to Golfstat, CSU is en route to Tucson, Ariz., for the 2019 Mountain West Men's Golf Championship, being played Friday-Sunday, April 26-28. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at OMNI Tucson National Resort's Catalina Course, the same course that the Rams finished fourth at earlier this spring at the National Invitational Tournament. In that event, CSU only finished behind three schools ranked in the top seven nationally and defeated four other Mountain West teams in the field.
