Men's Golf Adds Bleier, Jennings For 2021-22

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State men's golf has signed Christoph Bleier (Linz, Austria/Borg Linz) and Jordan Jennings (Montrose, Colo./Montrose HS) to be a part of the program starting in the 2021-22 school year, head coach Christian Newton announced today. The pair joins a squad that ended the 2019-20 season ranked in the top 25 nationally.
Christoph Bleier, Linz, Austria (Borg Linz)
AMATEUR: Currently ranked 106 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), the highest ever for a player signed at CSU… A member of Austria's Men's National Team… Earned a spot in the European Tour's Euram Bank Open in 2020… Named the Upper Austrians Athlete of the Year in 2018… Was the Austrian Junior Champion in 2017 and 2018… Participated in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, playing in the mixed-team event… Was second in the 2019 Austrian International Amateur… Finished fifth in the French Boys 2019 event… Was in the top 25 at the 2020 European Amateur Championship…

"Christoph is the highest ranked WAGR (106) player we have signed. His record is extremely impressive which includes a start on the European Tour this summer. He is a member of the Austrian Men's National team as an 18-year old. I couldn't be happier about him choosing to be a Ram!"

Jordan Jennings, Montrose, Colo. (Montrose HS)
HIGH SCHOOL/AMATEUR: Was the 2020 Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Individual Champion and Player of the Year while leading Montrose to a third-place finish at the state tournament… Shot a 3-under 68 in the final round, the lowest round in any of the state tournaments… Led Montrose in scoring in nine of 10 tournaments, including two medalist honors… Named CHSAA First Team All-State three times in his high school career… Was part of three consecutive state team titles at Montrose… Had a four-year scoring average of 72.7 and was a three-year academic all-state honoree… Was a two-time Western Colorado Junior champion in 2019 and 2020… Also was an all-conference basketball selection in 2019-20…

"I have been tracking Jordan's development for over four years. He is a wonderful young man who knows about being a part of a team. He has an impressive high school golf career that includes three team state titles and one individual state title. With access to our first-class facilities, the sky is the limit for him."
