Senior Guard Lore Devos Picks Up Mountain West Weekly Award

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Three double-doubles in as many tries earns Lore Devos Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, announced by the league office Tuesday.

The 6-foot-1 senior guard averaged 19.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 2 assists per game in Colorado State's 3-0 week that included a sweep over San Diego State and a home win against Denver. In game one against the Aztecs, she matched her career-best mark in points at 25 and upped her career rebounds to 11 only to increase it to 12 in game two.

Devos kept the Rams alive in the second quarter of their first meeting with the Aztecs as she poured in 13 points to go into the half with a CSU three-point lead. She added three of her career-best four 3s in the second half to help secure the 86-77 win.

Game two of the San Diego State series spilled into two overtime periods where Devos scored 10 of her 23 points in the game. To go along with her new career mark in rebounds, Devos notched a career-tying four blocks en route to the team's 12 total swats, which tied for second in single-game records for CSU. Redirecting shots has been a constant theme for the Rams as they currently lead the nation in blocks with 46. The Kortrijk, Belgium native has 12 blocks through seven games and her season high is 17 as a freshman.

The Sunday matinee versus Denver saw Devos in a facilitator role more with a season-best five assists, but she still managed to get her double digits in points and rebounds at 10 and 11, respectively. The Rams swiftly defeated the Pioneers 85-62 to improve to 6-1 overall – CSU's best start since 2015-16.

Making the most of her opportunities, Devos went 9-of-10 shooting from the free throw line in the three games. This is Devos' second weekly award from the MW with the first coming on December 24th during her sophomore campaign in the 2018-19 season. She has four double-doubles this season after entering the season with one such game.

The Rams are back in action at Denver on Friday with a 6 p.m. tip.
