Junior tight end led Rams in receiving in 2020

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Pro Football Focus, which grades every player at every position during the college season, has named Colorado State's Trey McBride an honorable mention selection at tight end with the release of the organization's 2020 All-American Team.

The junior from Fort Morgan, Colo., led the Rams in receiving this year with 22 catches for 330 yards and four touchdowns, also leading the team in scoring. He averaged 15.0 yards per catch as the Rams were limited to just four games on the season, the fewest played in the Mountain West.

He was tied for seventh in the conference in receptions per game (5.5) and sixth in receiving yards per game (82.5). He opened the season with a career-best 130-yard performance against Fresno State on eight catches.

McBride, in less than three full seasons, has joined the list of elite tight ends in program history. He ranks second at the position in career yards per catch (13.2), third in touchdowns (nine) and his 74 catches and 979 receiving yards both sit fifth. He was a first-team All-Mountain West pick in 2019 and second team this season.

Florida's Kyle Pitts was named first team by PFF at tight end, while the other three selections were all from the Group of 5 – Isaiah Likely (Coastal Carolina, second team) and Josh Whyle (Cincinnati, third team).

He was one of two players from the Mountain West on the team, joined by Boise State wide receiver Khalil Shakir.
