Dear Rams,
Â
The month of May at Colorado State University is traditionally buzzing with special energy as we anticipate commencement. For our senior student-athletes and their families, it is the final step to a remarkable journey; one that will provide dividends for their lifetime.
Â
Congratulations and thank you to our graduating student-athletes!  The journey has been unique and truly unprecedented. We all know how different this spring term has been in so many ways, but the grit, determination and focus on the finish line that each one of you has demonstrated has been remarkable. It has not been easy, but you are winners! We are so proud of not only what you have achieved, but the manner in which you have completed this final term under such challenging circumstances. Be proud, be confident, and be excited. Your futures are bright, and the world is anxiously awaiting the next chapters of your lives.Â
Â
Family and friends matter! In my life, there has never been a time greater than now that has illustrated the significance of family, guardians' and friends' support. Congratulations to those who have been standing by our accomplished graduates.  You have helped them earn life-changing degrees from a world-class academic institution. This accomplishment, especially during such rare and challenging times, is incredibly special. Thank you for everything you have done to bring them to this moment of celebration.
Â
There are many celebrating!  Commencement is also a time when members of our athletic department and university communities are quietly smiling behind the scenes. Each journey is unique, but our academic support team, coaches, and staff are proud of each student-athlete who will earn their degree this week. It is a privilege for us to be a partner on this journey with you and gratifying to watch you successfully graduate.Â
Â
It is important for me to recognize and thank our Student-Athlete Academic Support Services (SASS) team members.  Like all of the many incredible faculty and staff at Colorado State University who quickly transitioned in-classroom instruction to virtual learning, so did our SASS Team. We are grateful for their flexibility, commitment, and care.
Â
Ram Country is strong and special!  The past few months have been challenging and stressful. Our daily routines were abruptly interrupted, and we have all been forced to approach each day differently. These transitions have not been easy, but it has been both energizing and rewarding to continue to engage with our alumni, Ram Club members, season ticket holders, partners, and fans. Thank you for staying connected with us, and thank you especially for your passion. I am excited for the time when we will be able to come back together, unified by our collective bond as Rams with energy and in support of our student-athletes.
Â
Please visit Graduation Central!  A degree from Colorado State University is incredibly powerful. It is a significant achievement, and even though we are not able to gather in-person at this time to celebrate, I ask that you please visit www.csurams.com/gradcentral and help us recognize our Ram student-athletes who are graduating this week. They have worked hard and deserve to be celebrated.
Â
The future is bright, and together, we will create many more great memories. Stay well and continue to take care of each other.
