Colorado State Athletics to Host Virtual Tailgate for Thursday Night Classic

Fans will be able to register to host their own virtual tailgates to watch the 1997 Holiday Bowl classic game together.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – In partnership with High Country Beverage/Miller-Coors and Tailgate Guys, Colorado State Athletics and fans of the Green and Gold will be tailgating – virtually – around another edition of "Thursday Night Classics" on Thursday, May 28.

Slated to premiere a condensed version of the 1997 Holiday Bowl victory over Missouri, virtual tailgates will allow fans to gather their friends and family together on Zoom or Microsoft Teams to enjoy a game together. Tailgates are encouraged to begin at 5:30 p.m. MT.

To join the tailgate fun:
Fans either hosting or just visiting a friend, can register their tailgates to receive custom virtual backgrounds provided by Tailgate Guys and prizes provided by High Country Beverage. Everyone who registers HERE will receive a custom virtual background for the event. Participants will also receive a 10-percent discount on any single-game tailgate package for the 2020 season when booked through Tailgate Guys.

Colorado State has premiered historic and notable games through the history of football, women's basketball, men's basketball, and volleyball over the course of the previous two months to great success. The Holiday Bowl will be the third football game to air on Facebook, following the 1994 Arizona game and the 2002 Rocky Mountain Showdown.

The Rams defeated Missouri 35-24 in the 1997 Holiday Bowl, the program's second bowl win in program history and first under then-head coach Sonny Lubick.

- Choose to host a tailgate. For those Ram Fans willing to host, click HERE to register your official tailgate with Colorado State Athletics.
- Those who choose to host should share the link along with their Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams link with all of their family and friends that they are inviting to join their tailgate. Each individual that completes the registration will be provided a custom virtual background to use during the tailgate compliments of Tailgate Guys.Â
- Tailgates begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28. All registered tailgaters are eligible for prizes courtesy of High Country Beverage, MillerCoors and Colorado State Athletics.
