Athlon Sports Places 10 Rams on Preseason All-Mountain West Teams

Warren Jackson, Trey McBride, Ryan Stonehouse named to first team
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The phasing in of Colorado State football players for voluntary workouts at Canvas Stadium this week is the first positive sign of hope for the 2020 college football season.
Another right of the offseason is the announcement of preseason all-conference teams, with Athlon Sports placing 10 Rams on their four Mountain West squads on Wednesday, three of them first-team selections.
Wide receiver Warren Jackson, tight end Trey McBride and punter Ryan Stonehouse made the first team, all coming off first-team All-Mountain West selections in 2019.
Jackson, a senior out of Mission Hills, Calif., led the team with 77 catches for 1,119 yards and eight touchdowns, highlighted by his nine-catch, 214-yard performance in the win over New Mexico. His 87-yard scoring catch in the game ranks second all time for the program, while his season catches rank fifth, his yardage eighth.
McBride, a junior from Fort Morgan, Colo., picked up his first All-Mountain West accolades after producing 45 catches for 560 yards and four touchdowns. A punishing blocker, he posted the first 100-yard receiving game of his career against Boise State, turning nine receptions into 101 yards and a touchdown.
For Stonehouse, a senior out of La Verne, Calif., preseason honors have been the norm as he has become the program's leader in punting average (47.0) in his three seasons, becoming a fixture on the Ray Guy watch lists and earning first-team All-Mountain West recognition the past two seasons, as well as second-team All-America honors from Sporting News as a sophomore. He averaged 46.4 yards per attempt in 2019 as the Rams ranked sixth nationally in net punting.
Defensive lineman Manny Jones, linebacker Dequan Jackson and punt returner Dante Wright were on the second team; Wright made the third team at receiver, with defensive lineman Ellison Hubbard joining him; and offensive lineman Barry Wesley and cornerback Rashad Ajayi were on the fourth team.
