In an e-mail to season ticket partners on Sunday night, Director of Athletics Joe Parker updated fans on a variety of matters related to fall sports in a video conversation with the Voice of the Rams, Brian Roth.

Thank you for your continued support of Colorado State Athletics. As we all continue to face the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, we understand there are numerous questions about what the fall season will look like. Director of Athletics Joe Parker sits down with the Voice of the Rams, Brian Roth, to answer a number of those questions and provides a timeline for when to expect more information from the Colorado State Athletic Department.

Here is a brief summary of their discussion:

Fall Sports and Fan Attendance: We continue to work with state, county and institutional health and safety professionals on game day protocol.  At this time, the following have been determined:
  • Capacity – There will be limited capacity at Canvas Stadium and Moby Arena.  Student-Athlete guests, season ticket partners and students will have first priority. As more guidance follows, we will have a better understanding of maximum capacity allowed and will adjust accordingly.
  • Masks – Masks will be required for entrance into Canvas Stadium and Moby Arena
  • Seating – All seating will be adjusted to accommodate physical distancing.

Schedule: While we understand the need for conferences to create flexibility, we do not agree with the implication that playing only conference opponents is somehow safer than playing an in-state rival like Colorado State, a Tier-1 research institution that is leading the way in COVID-19 research with world-class healthcare partners.
  • Scheduling Impact – At this time, we do not anticipate replacing the two lost games (vs. Colorado, at Oregon State) on our schedule.
  • Season Ticket Partner Impact – Due to the loss of the Colorado game in your season ticket package, season ticket and parking prices have been modified to reflect these changes and will be communicated directly to season ticket partners.
  • Financial Impact – While many schools are in a position to lose dollars due to the cancellation of these games, Colorado State will not be impacted negatively due to the nature of scheduling contracts.
  • State of Colorado Health and Safety Consortium – Colorado State, Colorado, Air Force, and Northern Colorado are entering into a group agreement to maintain equal health and safety standards and protocols for fan and student-athlete welfare.

Customized Account Management: We believe it is important that each season ticket partner has the opportunity to select how they want to handle their season ticket account.  Members of the Colorado State Athletic Department will be in contact with each season ticket partner account by phone.

Timeline for Season Ticket Communications: As event day protocols are finalized and approved by health and safety professionals, we will begin to share these details via e-mail, and we will begin to call season ticket partner accounts the second week of August.
