Rams Return to Pitch in Spring 2021 for Regular Season
FORT COLLINS, Colo.  – Coming off its program best 2019 campaign, the Colorado State women's soccer team patiently trained this past fall due to Mountain West's fall sport postponement and now have been rewarded a 2021 regular season schedule, announced Tuesday by head coach Bill Hempen.
Â
"At this time and under our current normal, I consider this a New Year's miracle,"Â Hempen said elated. "An actual schedule we can all point to. I look back at the fall and how our team approached daily training with no reward of true in game competition, and this is what they were working toward and it is now a reality. The staff and the team cannot wait to get going again."
Â
The 10-match conference-only schedule is a divisional double round-robin format taking place over a six-week period (March 5-April 11). Meaning, the Ram will have a home-and-home series with five opponents. En lieu of a conference tournament, the top seed of each division will meet on April 17th at a campus site to determine the Conference automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament.
Colorado State's division consists of New Mexico, Utah State, Colorado College, Air Force and Wyoming. The other six-team division includes Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State, and UNLV.
Â
The Rams will start play at home on March 5th against the Lobos who are the only other team in CSU's division to reach last season's conference tournament. The two teams will make it a true bookend series as they conclude the schedule in Albuquerque on April 11th.
