Track & Field Schedule Set for 2021-22

Colorado State Head Coach Brian Bedard Announces 2021-22 Indoor and Outdoor Slate
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Back to a packed schedule of meets for the Colorado State track and field program as head coach Brian Bedard released the full 2021-22 schedule Wednesday with over 20 dates of competition.

After an ultra-shortened indoor season and a slightly reduced outdoor slate, the Rams are back to normalcy going into the campaign. A true indoor championship is back on the table after the Mountain West did not hold a conference meet last year and the Rams competed at the in lieu of meet, Championships at the Peak. Although the event provided a plethora of competition for CSU with many Power 5 schools in the mix, it didn't resemble a true team event as the CSU distance squad did not partake due to being in cross country season simultaneously.

The Rams start their indoor season in early December with two meets – Air Force Holiday Open (12/3) and Wyoming Indoor Meet (12/10-11) – before breaking for the holidays. The first meet back in the New Year will be at the CU Open (1/14-15) and then there are meets scheduled every weekend following until championship season. One key meet which returns will be the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. – the same site as the conference meet.

Four home meets highlight the outdoor season, starting with the Glenn Morris Multis (3/23-24) followed by but not in succession are the Fum McGraw Invitational (4/2), Doug Max Invitational (4/16) and the Jack Christiansen Invite (4/22-23). Three main away meets include the West Coast Relays (3/31-4/1) for the distance squad, the touted Mt. SAC (4/15-16) and the Fresno Invitational, AKA the Don Kirby meet of indoor, will be at the location of the conference championships, but in Clovis, Calif. two weeks prior.

The CSU men are the three-time defending overall conference champions, having won last season's outdoor and then the previously held indoor meets in 2020 and 2019. The CSU women were the outdoor runner-up this past May and placed third in 2020's indoor meet after winning the 2019 title.
