Roumeliotis Picks Up Mountain West Defensive POW

The libero earned her fifth weekly award from the league.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After another impressive defensive performance, which helped the Colorado State volleyball team post a perfect 2-0 mark in last week's Mountain West matches, senior libero Alexa Roumeliotis was tabbed the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. The award is the fifth of her career and second of the season – third of the season for the Rams.
 
Roumeliotis remains the cornerstone for the Colorado State defense, totaling a team-high 36 digs over the two matches, for a 4.50 average. She started the week with 20 digs in the reverse sweep at San Diego State, while also dishing out six assists. She finished the week leading the backrow with 16 digs against UNLV in Moby Arena on Saturday.
 
While in the service game, she was targeted 49 times on serves posting a .980 mark with just one error. She also served 33 times, dropping in two aces.
 
Roumeliotis leads the Rams and the Mountain West with a 4.52 average for the season, which is also No. 72 in the country. Her 321 total digs are also No. 1 in the conference and 108th in the nation.
 
Colorado State will continue action this week starting the second half of the Mountain West schedule. The Rams will be on the road at Air Force Thursday and New Mexico on Saturday.
