Team concludes weekend Sunday against NAU, NMSU
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The second day of the Halloween Howl didn't go as smoothly for Colorado State, but it wasn't as if it wasn't productive overall for the women's tennis team.
Â
The Rams went 3-4 in singles play and countered with a 2-1 mark in doubles with one more day of the hidden-dual format in New Mexico. Playing doubles against New Mexico, the Rams won two of three matches. They went 2-4 in singles against Northern Arizona, with Anastasiia Kotsyuba picking up a victory over an opponent from New Mexico State.
Â
"Today was a tough day for us, but we learned a lot about ourselves as people and competitors," CSU head coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "This team is tough, and we will bounce back."
Â
The Rams picked up doubles wins from Radka Buzkova and Matea Mihaljevic, as well as Lucia Natal and Tracy Guo, with the later tandem not dropping a single game. Buzkova and Mihaljevic improved to 14-1 on the season with their win.
Â
At singles, Somer Dalla-Bona and Sarka Richterova all picked up victories against the Lumberjacks. Kotsyuba picked up a match with Bella Nguyen in straight sets.
Â
The tournament concludes Sunday as Colorado State plays doubles against NAU (9 a.m.), singles against NMSU (11:30 a.m.)
