Six Set to Join Track and Field Program in 2022

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Ranging from the D.C. suburbs to Nebraska to Arizona and in the Colorado neighborhood, head coach Brian Bedard and staff assembled six future Rams to sign national letters of intent for the Class of 2022.

The six forthcoming Rams include: Kajsa Borrman of Loveland, Colo.; Carsen Bruns of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Neya Jamison of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; Rhys Travis of Fort Collins, Colo.; Tyler Benett of Reston, Va.; and Tatum Bailey of Chadron, Neb.

The class features two for the sprints/hurdles group, three for the jumps department and one for the throwing squad. Collectively, the group has five state championships to boast. Bedard notched his first second generation student-athlete with the signing of Kajsa Borrman – the daughter of CSU Hall of Famer throwers Shelley Greathouse-Borrman and Mattias Borrman who Bedard recruited and coached in the late 1990's.

Attended Loveland HS in Loveland, Colo…Two-time Colorado state champion in discus…2021 CHSAA 5A Discus champion by a margin of over 12 feet and in front of five seniors...Placed third in shot put at state…Ranked second in the discus and sixth in shot put among the 2021 Colorado high school rankings…Won eight discus events and six shot put events as a junior…2019 CHSAA 5A Discus champion as a freshman, winning by five feet…2019 Colorado USATF Junior Olympic Hammer Throw Champion…Also finished fifth in the shot put at state in 2019…Won six discus events in her freshman year…In the LHS record book, she owns the discus record and is second in the shot put…Daughter of two CSU Hall of Fame track and field throwers in Shelley Greathouse-Borrman and Mattias Borrman …Four-time academic all-state…Also an all-conference basketball recipient (2018-19)…Competed on the U15 Swedish National Basketball Team…2018 USATF Region 10 Junior Olympic Champion in discus as an eighth grader…Swept the 2018 Colorado USATF Junior Olympics; discus, javelin, shot put.

"Kajsa is a multiple sport athlete, playing volleyball, basketball and track. I make it a priority to recruit multiple sport athletes as it makes them more well-rounded. Obviously, I know Kajsa's parents very well, having coached them here in the 1990's. From what I've seen so far in Kajsa, the talent, work ethic and competitiveness has been passed on. She'll fit right into our championship culture."

Carsen Bruns | Sprints/Hurdles
Attended Rampart HS in Colorado Springs, Colo…Ranked in top 3 of all hurdle events in Colorado outdoor for 400mH (1^st), 300mH (2^nd) and 110mH (3^rd) …Ranked No. 2 in 60mH and No. 3 in 400m for state for Colorado indoor…Competed at The Outdoor Nationals…At 2021 CHSAA 5A state meet, finished second in 300mH and seventh in 110mH…Won nine 110mH races and seven 300mH as a junior…Competed at the 2021 AAU Elite HS Indoor Championships…In RHS record book, he owns the No. 2 marks in 200m and 300mH and No. 3 marks in 100m and 110mH…Also played football…Junior class vice president and five-time academic all-state.

Neya Jamison | Sprints/Hurdles
Attended Chaparral High School in Paradise Valley, Ariz.…2021 Arizona Interscholastic Association D1 State Track & Field Championship in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.64…In the pelims, she ran a 42.27 for the second-fastest time in Arizona Preps…Named Arizona Republic All-Arizona…Earned All-State honors…Ranked second in state of Arizona and 12^th nationally in 300mH…Holds top-10 Arizona ranking in 100mH (8^th) and 400m (10^th)…Two-time 300mH Northeast Valley Champion (2021, 2019)…Top-ranked 60mH in Arizona with a time of 9.68…Also at 2021 AIA state meet, finished fifth in the 100mH, eighth in the 200 and a part of the fourth-place 4x100m relay team…Won six 300mH races and five 100mH races as a senior plus two 400s and a 100 event…2019 Scottsdale District Champion in 100mH and 300mH…At CHS, holds the six records (200, 400, 100mH, 300mH, 4x100, high jump)…Parents both competed on the Northern Arizona track and field program…Brother, Brandon, played football at UC Davis.

Attended Poudre HS in Fort Collins, Colo…Top-ranked triple jumper and No. 3 high jumper in state of Colorado…2021 USATF Colorado Outdoor High Jump and Triple Jump Champion…2021 CHSAA 5A Champion high jump and triple jump…Won eight total high jumps in junior season including the Front Range League title…All podium finishes with five wins for triple jump during junior season…Owns PHS record in high jump and triple jump…Also played basketball all four years at PHS and football for a season.

Tyler Benett | Jumps
Attended South Lakes HS in Reston, Va…Ranked in state of Virginia, No. 3 for the indoor triple jump and No. 9 for outdoor TJ…At 2021 Virginia High School League Class 6 Championships finished fourth in long jump and triple jump…Placed third in pole vault, 400m, and long jump at 2021 6A Region D Championship…2021 Liberty District Champion in five events (triple jump, long jump, 200m, 400m, 4x400m), while finishing runner-up in pole vault and high jump…Runner-up in the long jump and triple jump at the 2021 VHSL Class 6 State Indoor meet…2021 VHSL Region 6D Indoor Champion in long jump, triple jump and 500m…A part of three South Lakes District Indoor titles, which helped continued to school's streak of 11 in a row…Has earned All-District, All-Region and All-State honors…In the SLHS record book, he has the No. 2 triple jump mark and No. 3 long jump mark.

Attended Chadron Senior HS in Chadron, Neb.…At 2021 NSAA Class B State Championships, finished fourth in the high jump and long jump, while also placing 12^th in 100mH...Ranked eighth in the high jump in Nebraska…Owns the CSHS school record in 100mH, high jump and long jump…2021 Class B District 6 runner-up in high jump and champion in 2019…Won the high jump in 2021 Western Conference Championships, while adding podium finishes in triple jump, 100mH and 100m…Also an all-conference volleyball recipient and played in all four years at CSHS.
