Head Coach Tom Hilbert signed two players to join his squad in fall 2022.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State head coach Tom Hilbert announced a pair of student-athletes to continue their careers at CSU following high school graduation.
"This class is filling holes in our roster where we need people – in the middle and in some defensive specialist positions," said head coach Tom Hilbert. "I am excited about both of these players. They are players that can both come in and compete for some playing time right away."
Delaney McIntosh | L/DS | Madison, Wis. | Verona Area HS
Delaney is a four-year varsity letterwinner in volleyball playing for Jillian Bauer and Jose Logan at Verona Area High School… She played both libero and outside hitter during her prep… As a sophomore, she helped lead her team to a Big 8 Conference Championship and was named All-Conference Honorable Mention… She led her team in kills during her final two seasons… In the classroom she was part of the National Honors Society and Honor Roll… She was also a "Family, Career and Community Leaders of America" (FCCLA) and Girl Power Africa Student Ambassador, as well as an AP Scholar and silver cord recipient.
Chose Colorado State because…
"I chose Colorado State because they have everything that I am looking for in a university. From the coaching staff, to the players, to the competitive academics and athletics, CSU has it all. The volleyball community and support at CSU is unmatched, and going to school in Colorado is something I have always wanted to do."
Tom Hilbert on Delaney…
"Delaney is very game-savvy defensive player. She little taller than most defensive specialists, so her length will help her. She has played on a really good club and had a lot of experience in the game as a really good competitor."
Jazen DeBina | MB | Las Vegas, Nev. | Liberty HS
Jazen played four-years for Fredrick Williams at Liberty High School in Las Vegas, Nevada… Was named team MVP as a freshman… Earned A/B Honor Roll Academic honors.
Chose Colorado State because…
"I fell in love with Fort Collins and the closely knit community. The campus is beautiful and I can see a promising future in the program and academically. On my visit, the team and coaches welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was at home."
Tom Hilbert on Jazen…
"Jazen is really a versatile player that can play a lot of positions, but we need her in the middle. She can hit of one foot, she can hit in front of the setter, and she can hit high balls. She is a player that has a quiet personality, but a very loud presence when she plays. She really plays with a high motor and I like it."
