The Rams are in the middle of a tightly-bunched field, with just seven shots separating third from 15th
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – A tightly-bunched field after 18 holes has Colorado State tied for 10th at the 2021 Saint Mary's Invitational, Oct. 8. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by Saint Mary's (CA) College, is being played at Poppy Hills Golf Club (Par 71 – 7,002 yards) in Pebble Beach, Calif.

With just seven shots separating third from 15th, the Rams posted a 1-over 285 and are tied for 10th with Coastal Carolina. No. 6 Stanford leads the field at 15-under 269, eight shots ahead of No. 28 San Francisco. Santa Clara and Oregon are tied for third at 4-under 280, with San Diego rounding out the top five teams at 2-under 282.

CSU is led by freshman Christoph Bleier in a tie for 21st at 1-under 70, including three birdies and no bogeys in his last eight holes. Freshman Jay Pabin is one shot back at even-par 71, tied for 33rd. Junior Connor Jones and sophomore Rasmus Hjelm, in his first action of the season, are both at 1-over 72, tied for 41st, while senior Davis Bryant is at 4-over 75, tied for 75th. Santa Clara's Jack Avrit and Craig Ronne of Oregon are tied for the first-round lead at 7-under 64, one shot ahead of a trio of golfers.

CSU will go off No. 1 tomorrow morning starting at 9 a.m. MT, playing with New Mexico.
