The libero earned her sixth weekly award from the league and third of the season.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State had another impressive performance at home last week, in which it picked up two sweeps to extend its home winning streak to eight and still hasn't dropped a set in Mountain West play in Moby Arena. Senior libero Alexa Roumeliotis was tabbed the Mountain West Defensive Player of the week for the third time this season and sixth in her career in the Green and Gold. The award is the fourth for the Rams this season.

Roumeliotis has been solid in the backrow and the cornerstone for the Rams' defense, totaling a team-high 29 digs over the two matches for a 4.83 average. She started the week with 16 digs against Nevada before finishing against then-second-place San Jose State with 13 digs, while also keeping the Spartans' offense to a .194 hitting mark.
Â
While in the service game, she was targeted 18 times and had no errors. She also dished out five assists and dropped in two aces.
Â
Roumeliotis leads the Rams and the Mountain West with a 4.46 average for the season and is second in conference-only stats with a 4.23 average. Her overall mark is No. 86 in the country and her 375 total digs is second in the Mountain West and No. 121 in the nation.
Â
Colorado State will continue action this week playing at Wyoming for the second edition of the Border War on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m., before close its home schedule on Saturday against Fresno State. The Rams will honor their graduating senior prior to the first serve on Saturday and fans are encouraged to wear Green.
