CSU Handles Business In Win Over Little Rock, 86-55

The Rams limited the Trojans to just 38.5 percent from the field and forced a season-high 18 turnovers.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. –  Colorado State started strong and took care of business against Little Rock, 86-55, Wednesday night in Moby Arena. The Rams remained one of the remaining undefeated teams in Division I, improving to 8-0 on the year, while the Trojans dropped to 4-4.

After an exchange of early leads made it 5-4 Little Rock, the Rams pulled away with a 22-2 run over the next 10 minutes to make it 26-7 CSU with just under seven minutes remaining in the first half. The lead grew to as many as 25 in the opening period, with Colorado State taking a 43-20 advantage into the break. The lead was maintained and expanded in the second half, growing to as many as 36 in the late stages.

Colorado State again proved effective on the offensive end, hitting 55.9 percent (33-of-59) of its field goal attempts, including going 25-of-36 on two pointers. Little Rock was held to just 38.5 percent (20-of-52) overall and 23.1 percent (3-of-13) on threes. The Rams hit all 12 free throw attempts and won the boards, 32-28.

CSU had four players in double figures, led by junior Isaiah Stevens' double-double of 12 points and a school record-tying 12 assists, with no turnovers. Seniors Kendle Moore and Adam Thistlewood each contributed 11, while junior John Tonje came off the bench with 10 points. Little Rock had a pair of players in double digits, paced by Isaiah Palermo's 16 points.

• Stevens' double-double was the fifth point-assist double-double of his career and 19th in program history.
• Stevens also moved up to seventh on the CSU career assist list with 355, passing Matt Barnett (1994-98) with 352.

• Roddy and Stevens are closing in on the 1,000-point mark in their CSU careers, as Roddy is now at 977 and Stevens has 972.
