Rams In Sixth At Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate As Ott Takes Lead Individually

PALM DESERT, Calif. – AJ Ott continued his early season stellar play to take the individual lead, as Colorado State is sixth after 36 holes of the 2021 Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate Saturday. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by Wyoming, is being played at Classic Club (Par 72 – 7,322 yards) in Palm Desert, Calif.

Ott tied for the low round of the day with a 4-under 68, as the Fort Collins native made four birdies and no bogeys on the day. He moved up to 7-under 137 and takes a two-shot advantage over San Diego's Charlie Reiter into the final round.

The Rams had some late stumbles in the final round and finished the day at 4-over 292 to post a 36-hole total of 3-over 569 in sixth. No. 39 Georgia Tech is the two-round leader at 5-under 561, as just eight shots separate first from sixth. Oregon and Charlotte are tied for second at 1-under 565, with San Diego and Boise State one shot back at even-par 566 in a tie for fourth.

Parathakorn Suyasri is next on the team list in a tie for ninth at 2-under 142 after a 1-over 73 in the second round. Cullen Plousha shot a 3-over 75 and is tied for 60th at 6-over 150. Davis Bryant  and Oscar Teiffel are one shot behind Plousha at 7-over 151 in a tie for 67th. Playing as an individual, junior Jack Ainscough is tied for 20th at 1-over 145.

CSU will go off holes 4, 5 and 6 tomorrow morning in the final round's shotgun start at 8:00 a.m., with the Rams playing with Boise State, Colorado and UCLA.
