Colorado State improves its winning streak to four matches
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Colorado State volleyball team improved its winning streak to four-straight victories, after cruising past New Mexico on Thursday night in The Pit. The Rams took the first two sets handedly, 25-9 and 25-15, as they were nearly perfect on the attack, recording a combined four attack errors. CSU earned the sweep, third of the season taking the final frame, 29-27.

Both teams traded points to start the match, but Colorado State made a 3-0 run to lead 6-3 and never trailed again as it hit .357 for the set with 12 kills and two hitting errors.

The Rams kept its momentum into the second frame, leading the entire set and hitting a match-high .444 with 14 kills and two errors.

New Mexico took an early lead using two runs early, one of which was eight-straight errors by Colorado State to put the Rams behind 11-3. CSU chipped away at the deficient through the set, and made a 4-0 run late to tie the game at 23-23. The Lobos had set point at 24-23, but the Rams responded two back-to-back points to have match point. Colorado State went on to make match point four times before securing the sweep.

Colorado State will finish the 2021 spring schedule on Saturday at San Diego State with the first serve at 2 p.m., MT on the Mountain West Network.
